An Intimate Backyard Wedding in Rocky River Ohio

Emily and Will got married on such a beautiful September day in Ohio. They chose to get married in Will's parent's backyard, in the house where Will had grown up. Will's parent's backyard is gorgeous! And I swear, you wouldn't be able to tell it was someone's backyard by some of the photos because they have that space perfectly manicured. Their next door neighbors also lent out their backyard for the tent and bar area. I found one of my favorite walls when we checked out the wedding space before their day. Their neighbors garden shed. Complete with gorgeous ivy growing all over the side of it. Some of my favorite photos from the day are right in front of that wall.

Emily got ready for her wedding day at the Hyatt Place in Westlake in Crocker Park. She chose her 2 bridesmaids to be with her along with her mom and her future mother in law. It was one of the most relaxing and chilled out getting ready times I've photographed so far. I photographed Emily as she did her final touches of make up and then a few portraits of her with some amazing window light in the suite. There is a great spot right outside the hotel that I knew I had to take a few minutes to photograph Emily by. Whenever there is time in the day (and I'm telling you...sometimes it's just a few minutes) I love to photograph each individual partner. Emily and Will's ceremony was officiated by a long time family friend...and you guys, I don't usually cry during the ceremony (yes...I cry at other times of the wedding day like the mother son dance or if the father of the bride is making a speech) but not usually ceremonies. Well...this was a first. Their vows were beautiful and the amount of love you could feel from their guests radiating out to them in that moment was palpable. They had a surprise for all heir guests too. During their first kiss, their bridal party had confetti sticks! It made for such a memorable first kiss! While they walked down the aisle, they had a few select guests with confetti sticks too and it was just such a joyous moment!

Emily and Will decided on Barrio for dinner (yassssss!) AND they had a soft serve ice cream machine & sundae bar for dessert! Their reception was an awesome mix between some dancing and lots of engaging conversations. Their wedding day was perfectly Emily and Will. We were so honored to be chosen to be a small part of their day. We'll cherish it for years to come.
