Carrie & Kelly's Cleveland Public Square Wedding

The whole week leading up to the wedding I kept a watchful eye on the weather because it kept showing that it was going to rain all day on Friday! That morning it was POURING, but it decided to stop raining and remain cloudy for the rest of the day (which is great for pictures...nice, even light!)

Kelly & Carrie got ready for their day at the Drury Inn in downtown Cleveland. We shot detail shots around the hotel and of course I had to ask management if it was ok with them to hand Kelly's gorgeous wedding gown from the balcony!

Carrie had planned for me to stop by her room and pick up a special gift she got for Kelly. Kelly had wanted to get a personalized hanger for her gown but realized it would be too late to get one before the wedding. Well, Carrie went to Things Remembered and got a personalized plaque and bought a gorgeous wood hanger. I made sure Kelly wouldn't get dressed without me being in the room to get her reaction to the hanger.

Kelly's sister, Ashley, did her make up, and it was perfectly simple and beautiful. Kelly's mom, Shawnee, helped Kelly get into her wedding gown. I helped Kelly get into her sparkly Converse and we were on our way.

The ceremony was short and sweet and was cutely interrupted by Jackson a few times (including their first kiss!) Me, being the sap that I am was crying behind my camera when they were pronounced Mrs & Mrs.

We had decided before the wedding that Kelly & Carrie would take some time between the ceremony and the reception to do their portraits (& take some time to enjoy their big day just on their own.)

Our first stop for pictures was Lincoln Park in Tremont. The park just recently got a new gazebo which is super pretty! We walked around the park a bit, took some photos and went on our way to spot number 2.

We stopped at the Cleveland sign on Abbey Rd in Tremont for a quick shot of the Cleveland skyline. By that time, we were getting kind of hungry so we decided to stop by Mitchell's Ice Cream in Ohio City for a scoop! (& of course we took some time for a few quick photos!)

We stopped by the living wall at Cleveland Tea Revival for a few shots there and we also did some shots on the sidewalk with the Pride installation in the background. Even though Pride month was technically last month, we were happy to see that the rainbow yarn that adorns the rooftops were still there.

Our last stop was the pride mural on Detroit! I love all the great street art that is around Ohio City, there are so many spots for awesome shots not just of the art but the city too!

The reception was held right in Public Square under a big tent! There was a dance floor and a stage for the DJ set up right in the green! No better backdrop to your wedding than the entire city of Cleveland. Carrie & Kelly had Barrio Tacos come out and cater dinner for all their guests. It was delicious!

They had a fun surprise when they went to cut the cake. The inside was a rainbow. We had such a fun time at this wedding. I'm so glad they decided to have me and Marcus come and document their day.
